I love seeing kids grow. It is so rewarding to see the smile on a student’s face who has just done something that they have never done before. The spark of joy, and the burst of excitement is everything. I love training in Taekwondo, and always want to be the best that I can. Not better than anyone else, but better than I was yesterday. As an instructor I want to spread the love and joy of this amazing sport.
As someone who is a dedicated athlete, who has been at the provincial level for gymnastics, and has made it to provincial championships, I know how hard you have to work. But I know that the best way to get better is to enjoy what you are doing. Hard work pays off, but who says that you can’t make work fun?
One of the most amazing things is watching kids gain skills that they couldn’t get anywhere else. They learn all life skills in one package, self defense, determination, perseverance, self respect, and how to overcome fears. Martial arts have changed my life.
The environment is amazing. Everyone builds each other up and supports them in every way possible. I know that I have made many friendships, and some lifelong friends here and I can’t imagine it any other way.
